Pet Advice - Article
A new pill on the market

Although many pets can lose weight from the low calorie balanced diets that we provide, there are always a few where our best efforts, for a variety of reasons, don't work. One particular group are those, usually older dogs and cats owned by elderly people, often living alone, who understandably lavish treats on their beloved pet but are often unable to offer any worthwhile exercise.

Now there is extra help at hand, in the form of new slimming drugs given with the food, on a daily basis. They work by blocking the absorption of fat from the small intestine, but mainly by depressing appetite due to the higher fat levels in the intestinal cells,

So, weight loss is now a more attainable goal for our pets and dare we say it for ourselves as well, particularly if we could find time in our busy lives to walk the elderly neighbour's dog once or twice a week.
