Pro Plan is also formulated to be "stone neutral" - which means that a cat's urine is pH controlled to prevent the formation of bladder stones. The balance is crucial; if the urine is too acidic, calcium oxalate stones can form, too alkaline and calcium struvite stones will result. Either type of stone can be problematic, as they can measure up to 1cm in diameter and obstruct the urinary tract. Taurine, an essential amino acid that cats must eat as they cannot create this themselves, is necessary for a cat's good eyesight and heart function and is included.

Kitten A complete and balanced food for kittens, plus pregnant and lactating queens. Rich in chicken and rice, Pro Plan Kitten has all the nutritional requirements to develop strong bones and muscles, and support a healthy immune system.

Adult 100% complete and balanced nutrition for adult cats. Available in Chicken and Rice, Duck and Rice and Salmon and Rice.

Light A complete and balanced food for overweight or less active cats. With 34% protein this helps cats lose fat - not muscle - during weight loss. Can also be used as a weight maintaining diet.

Indoor Specially formulated with fresh turkey for cats who spend most of their time indoors. Indoor includes natural oat fibres to ease the digestive process and control hairball formation in the stomach.

Dogs

Puppy A complete and balanced pet food for puppies, gestating and lactating bitches. Available in Chicken and rice and wheat gluten free Lamb and Rice for puppies with sensitive digestions. Both specially formulated to provide an optimal profile of minerals and vitamins essential for the development of strong bones and teeth.

Puppy Large Breed Formula Large breed puppies mature at a slower rate than small and medium size puppies and can take up to 24 months to reach adult size. This means that they need a calorie-controlled formula to help manage their growth rate and reduce stress on their skeletal system. Pro Plan Puppy Large Breed, formulated with CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) is specially tailored to support healthy bone and joint development and helps reduce the percentage of body fat for lean, large breed puppies.

Adult Available in Chicken and Rice, Lamb and Rice (wheat gluten free for dogs with sensitive skin and/or digestive systems) and Salmon and Rice. All contain real meat as the main ingredient and highly digestible rice to help your dog stay healthy, alert and full of vitality.

Adult Mini For small breed adult dogs. Small and toy breeds of adult dog (under 10kg) have special nutritional requirements because of their higher metabolism. Adult mini is energy dense, providing the smaller dog with all the energy they require, in bite size pieces ideal for small breeds.

Senior For adult dogs aged seven years and older. A lower calorie formulation to help prevent weight gain, but with enough protein to maintain reserves and counter infection and stress. It also contains reduced levels of phosphorus and sodium, more fibre and a less dense texture to make chewing easier.

Performance For more active dogs. This contains higher levels of proteins and oils to provide extra energy for hard working dogs with higher energy levels. An increased level of vitamin E also helps muscle recovery after periods of strenuous exercise.

Light For overweight or less active dogs. With approximately half the oils and fats of Pro Plan Adult varieties, this is specially formulated to ensure that only fat - not muscle - is lost during weight loss.
